Three everyday checks for looking after auto glass
Parking choices, careful cleaning and regular wiper checks are useful parts of looking after auto glass. When choosing a parking space, look for obvious hazards such as a damaged overhead branch or nearby work that could throw debris. No parking choice guarantees protection from glass damage.
Before removing a sticker, check whether it is on bare glass, film or an area with heating elements. Use the vehicle and product instructions for that surface instead of a generic scraping or solvent method. Ask for advice if the surface or the sticker’s removal instructions are unclear.
Check the wiper blades for wear and correct fit. Our windshield wiper guide can help with selection. If you find a chip, review the rock-chip repair criteria rather than assuming it came from the wipers. Damage to another window needs a separate assessment; see our car-window glass services for that type of work.
