Auto Glass Replacement & Repair FAQs
How do I plan a mobile auto glass appointment in Houston?
- Gather the vehicle’s year, make, model, complete VIN and a description of the glass damage.
- Call 832-303-0318 or email info@aarautoglass.com with the address where you want service.
- AAR is open 24/7; we’ll review the requirements and quote, then confirm an appointment’s date, time and location.
- After installation, follow the technician’s release time and aftercare directions.
What work is included in the replacement visit?
For a confirmed windshield replacement, the technician removes the damaged glass, prepares the bonding surfaces and installs the correct replacement using the specified automotive-glass adhesive system. The work area is cleaned and aftercare is explained. Any manufacturer-required ADAS calibration needs its own allowance in the service plan.
How should I plan my next drive after replacement?
Allow about 30–45 minutes for the usual installation, plus the safe drive-away wait and any required ADAS calibration. The installation estimate is not permission to move the vehicle.
Do not drive or move your vehicle until the safe drive-away time provided by your technician has passed. This is based on the Dow U-428 Plus adhesive manufacturer’s temperature and humidity requirements.
Which glass options and installation materials are available?
Ask AAR to confirm the glass choices for your exact vehicle and its windshield features. OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer; OEM, OEE or other aftermarket availability must be checked before an option is promised. The installation uses the specified automotive-glass adhesive system, with release instructions based on the adhesive requirements.
Who handles a window that will not move after a break-in?
Have an auto mechanic diagnose the fault if the cause is unknown. Smashed glass does not prove a particular regulator or motor failure. AAR does not diagnose faults, sell parts, shop for parts or pick them up. With the correct regulator already purchased, customer-supplied installation is $145 with free mobile service.
How should I handle glass left in a door or the carpet?
AAR removes as much broken glass as accessible areas permit with travel vacuums. Door reinforcements can make complete access difficult, and carpet may need a further commercial-vacuum cleanup. Address remaining door fragments instead of relying on drain holes to clear them. Respect the separate drive-away and car-wash waiting periods before travelling for more cleanup.
How are the quote, trip charges and payment arranged?
Give AAR the vehicle details, glass requirements and exact service address so the quote can cover the work involved, including any required ADAS calibration. Confirm the total, any location-related charge and accepted payment methods before scheduling. Payment and claim arrangements need to be agreed for your appointment rather than copied from another job.
What does the replacement workmanship warranty cover?
The workmanship warranty covers wind noise, water leaks and loose trim caused by replacement workmanship. Problems caused by collision, damage or rust deterioration are excluded. Workmanship coverage is for the life of the vehicle and expires when ownership changes. Keep your receipt and review all of the additional terms below.
- Windshield stress cracks are guaranteed for 90 days from installation.
- Workmanship is guaranteed for the life of the vehicle, subject to limitations and exclusions.
- The warranty expires when vehicle ownership changes.
- Aftermarket antennas and devices are not guaranteed.
- AAR Auto Glass is not liable for incidental or consequential damages.
- Your receipt is required for warranty service.
- Warranty work is available Monday–Friday only.
What are the aftercare responsibilities for replacement glass?
Before returning to your normal driving plans, follow the technician’s safe drive-away time and these AAR aftercare precautions. The later time periods below are additional precautions, not substitutes for the initial waiting period.
Customer Aftercare Responsibilities
- Do not drive or move your vehicle until the safe drive-away time provided by your technician has passed. This is based on the Dow U-428 Plus adhesive manufacturer’s temperature and humidity requirements.
- After that waiting period, keep driving to a minimum for the remainder of the first 24 hours after installation as an additional precaution.
- Keep the retention tape in place for at least 24 hours.
- Leave a window open approximately one inch and avoid slamming doors for at least 24 hours.
- Avoid high-pressure car washes for at least 48 hours.
Warranty Terms

- Workmanship is guaranteed for the life of the vehicle, subject to limitations and exclusions.
- The warranty expires when vehicle ownership changes.
- Aftermarket antennas and devices are not guaranteed.
- AAR Auto Glass is not liable for incidental or consequential damages.
- Your receipt is required for warranty service.

Should I ignore wind noise that begins after replacement?
No. Contact AAR about new wind noise or a suspected air or water leak so the issue can be reviewed. Leave retention tape in place for at least 24 hours and follow the release and aftercare instructions. Do not assume tape is the only possible cause or remove it early to test the noise.
How does AAR handle windshield-camera calibration and disclosure?
A vehicle manufacturer may require ADAS calibration after windshield replacement. AAR offers $250 mobile camera recalibration on applicable vehicles; the exact vehicle procedure and location suitability must be confirmed using the year, make, model and complete VIN. The absence of warning lights does not establish that calibration is unnecessary.
Review the ADAS service information.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
ADAS DRIVER SAFETY SYSTEM CALIBRATION:
The customer acknowledges that certain windshields replaced (https://aarautoglass.com/warranty-information-disclosures/) by AAR Auto Glass may contain sensors for items such as lane departure warning system, lane keep assist, forward collision alert, collision assist, smart city brake, or any other sensor which controls the movement of the vehicle. AAR Auto Glass has given the customer notice that the original equipment manufacturer may require the windshield sensor to be recalibrated or programmed after it is transferred from the broken windshield to a new windshield.
AAR Auto Glass does not warrant or guarantee the proper function of any windshield sensor that was removed from a broken windshield.
The customer further acknowledges that it will be the customer’s sole responsibility and expense to confirm the proper operation of the windshield sensor, or to recalibrate or reprogram any malfunctioning sensor that was removed from the customer’s broken windshield.
