Choosing a windshield replacement service

  1. Training and standards. Ask about technician training and verify any credentials.
  2. Glass and materials. Confirm the glass and adhesive match your vehicle's needs.
  3. Calibration plan. Ask if ADAS calibration is required, who handles it and what it costs.
  4. Written terms. Request an itemized estimate and any warranty exclusions.
  5. Before you drive. Get the minimum drive-away time and aftercare instructions.

Requirements vary by vehicle, adhesive and conditions.

ADAS means advanced driver assistance systems. Ask the provider to check the vehicle manufacturer’s requirements and explain how any required calibration will be completed. Keep the vehicle stationary until the installer’s minimum drive-away time has passed.
