Three questions to ask about windshield installation
A replacement windshield involves more than choosing a pane of glass. Discuss molding, adhesive and glass selection with the installer. Start by asking which glass and trim parts are appropriate for your vehicle, including any cameras, sensors or other windshield features. Molding replacement depends on the installation requirements; it is not a universal rule.
Next, ask the installer to explain the adhesive’s minimum drive-away time for the actual conditions. A surface that looks dry does not establish when the vehicle can return to service. Follow the installer’s specific instructions instead of a generic waiting period.
