Checking your windshield during Houston’s summer heat
Include a glass inspection in your summer car-care routine. When parked, look for chips, cracks and marks that interfere with your view. If something has changed, note when you first noticed it and whether the glass has recently been struck or replaced.
Use your vehicle’s climate controls as the owner’s manual directs, and keep the glass clear enough to see through. Check the manual for the recommended cooling and demisting settings, particularly if condensation is affecting your view. When choosing a shaded parking space, also check for overhead hazards. A parking location cannot guarantee protection from glass damage.
If you discover damage, compare it with our rock-chip repair criteria and arrange an assessment. For damage outside that service’s scope, review windshield replacement options. You can also contact us with the vehicle and damage details to ask about availability before making a trip.
